Consumer Electronics - 9 September 2006

I have a JVC DVD player with the BLUE, GREEN, RED Component outputs. my 27" Insignia HDTV has the Component Inputs for the BLUE, GREEN, & RED too.
But the picture is greenish with no sound. I have the Red & White for sound plugged in with the Yellow cord hanging. So how do I get the picture perfect and the sound to work for the JVC progressive scan DVD player?

The picture is fine with anything else

I have some AA rechargeables for my digital camera and at first they worked great, but now even after cahrging them for hours they seem to last only a few minutes? Why is this happening?

Am I old fashoned? What's wrong with a 20 dollar camara? Takes good pictures and I don't need a computer. If I drop it, no big deal. If I lose it, no biggie with that either.

I want to purchase a Sony sa-wx700 powered subwoofer, but I noticed that in the owners manual it said that it was pushing power through 3ohms and my receiver is 8ohms. Now my question would be, is it the built-in amp that is pushing (outputting) 3ohms or is it the input accepts 3ohms? And would it work with my 8ohm receiver?

i have a motorola l7 and a case that closes with a magnet and so i was wondering if it would damage the phone? casue i know its bad to mut magnets on like comupters and stuff. Its a generic case too.

I had my old passive subs connected to my old reciever with the standard caonnections(analog,whatever,the red and white connectors...) because it had an ntegrated subwwofer amplifier.

I then had that reciever hooked up to my new reciever wich only has a powered subwoofer out.

my old reciever with the built in sub amplifier finaly ate the dust,thus leaving my passive subs useless.

what is the best way to get my passive subs back into my home theater system?
what is the most affordable way?
I have looked for another reciever with passive subwoofer out but they all have powered subwoofer outs these days.

10 points to the one I feel helps me solve my problem the best.

i have digital cable.... i have a samsung DLP TV. on back of the TV it has a DVI port , BUT on my digital cable reciever i have a HDMI port.


can i buy a cable that will plug into my HDMI port from my reciever to my DVI port in back of my TV?

if so , what are the draw backs? will i have sound?

I recently started using in-ear headphones. I noticed that on my CD player even songs played at the lowest volume level (1 out of 25) seemed really loud--I could hear the music softly when I held the earphones an inch from my ears. I switched back to headphones and now the music needs to be on three to be audible, but it doesn't pulse anymore like it's too loud. Anyway, this led me to wonder if earphones can do any damage to my hearing. Should I stick with headphones, or does it even make a difference?
