When you say amplifier that is power only, no tuner or switching capabilities. As in NOT a Receiver or integrated amp or home theater receiver.

in Bling order eg more expensive
And assuming amplifier only (watts aren't everything)

Onkyo M-282 100w per channel $300
Niles SI-275 FG00770 75w per channel $549
NAD C272 150w per channel $700
Adcom GFA-5400 125watts per channel $1200
Adcom GFA-5500 200watts per channel $1500
Marsh Sound Design A400s 200watts per channel $2300
Krell lost of models very expensive

many many other high end amps

(since you mentioned stereo)

Cheap and great solution with speakers and 5.1 surround with decoder for doby and DTS builtin. Add to that it has rear wireless speakers as well with remote and nice display panel. Want more, you can hook up three digital input devices (2 -optical + 1 coaxial) AND three analog stereo devices and just choose from remte what do you want to listen. Let's add little bit more, pro logic movie and music support with panaroma and wide sound. 300Watts pure raw. Virtually no table space for speakers hang it on the wall. Rear wireless means no clutter for rear wires.

Price ~250 approx from amazon delivered
Logotech Z 5450 also works as computer speaker

Why 5.1: It really fills the room with sound and gives you good sound CRISP and CLEAR. Needless to say you can switch to just good old stereo (2+1 aka 2.1).

I have been enjoying mine for last few weeks now and love them. I do have a denon 2802E2 with 6.1 surround but needed something low profile small for my home office and proud to say logitech is a good competetion for my denon and better value for money for music only.

I do agree and believe in high current technology as offered by denon but all it depends how many birds you want to kill with single shot and @ what price$.

Hope this helps!
