I like the Olympus C-770. It's a 4 mega pixel camera with 10 power optical zoom. I believe the camera sells for around 500 dollars. I have the C-750 and the photos are great. The optical zoom means you can zoom in on wildlife without loss of resolution. With digital zoom your just cropping your photo and loosing resolution.
Also buy a tripod. This camera works better with one in dark areas and with max zoom.

Canon Powershot A510 i think Great camera one of the best inexpensive cameras. If you got to a ritz camera they should have some on clearance if its a big one. If not try a A520 canons are the best and they are easy to use.

Go with a Sony. They have various prices. Sorry, my cam recorder is a Sony. My digital is a Cannon. I love it. Everyone I know who has a Cannon is please with it. Don't go cheap. It's hard to enjoy a camera that always has problems.

Check out the Kodak easy share, easy to use and not to expensive. We have given them for gifts to people that are 70+. And they love the ease of use.
