I have a Sony FR1 series DVD Dream System receiver that includes all my satellite speakers running 110 watts at 4-ohms. It's all just a simple connection terminals in the back panel.

Anyway, I have a pair of Pioneer bookshelf speakers that carries a maximum power of 120 watts at 6-ohms. I want to connect my Pioneer speakers with 2 of my 4-ohm speakers to create a wide-configuration front channels, and I don't want these speakers to run in parallel. Is there any equipment do I need (like speaker distribution hub or amplifier)?
Will it damage any of my components?
If so, which one?
What other effects will do?

I have a 42" Pany Plasma with all the standard I/O including (1) HDMI. I have a Direct TV HD receiver. Now I want to add a home theater system. Nothing fancy, even one of the better "home theater in a box" will do for me. Question is, what connections do I need to make sure my home theater has? And what is the "flow" of the Direct TV signal? Is it HD box to Receiver to TV? If so aren't I losing the benefit of the HDMI from receiver to TV since the connection from HDTV box to Receiver is component? Any info would be great!

I accidentally set my stereo speakers too close to my tv while cleaning and it now has a giant green/purple discoloration on the side. Does anyone know how i can remove it or if it's even possible?

I just recently upgraded to a 50" hp plasma television, obviously I've turned into a major couch potato over the last week. I have also upgraded my DirecTV to the hi-def service. My only gripe is that my local channels are not available in hi-def. I live in Greenville, SC and I know it is, by no means, the largest television market in the nation, but with over 3 million people in the market, it also isn't the smallest. I'm sure I'm not the only person set up for hi-def service, so my question is how can I find if/when my local channels will offer high definition service and who can I contact to start putting a little pressure on the local networks to speed up the process of getting it started.
