i agree with bmbg.
because you might have just missed something the first 4 times you've been in there.
but not only in the fridge, in the pantry too. i happen to be that person.. i was looking for something sweet to eat. i've been in the snack cabinet 5 times today, i guess i forget what i saw in there and took another look to try to find what i'm looking for. sadly, not a single tiny toosie roll. and i know later, i'm going to look for someting sweet in the fridge or cabinet again.

jade, have you ever heard about the fridge monster? he is related to the cookie monster.
the fridge monster always call you and then he hides behind the stuff in the fridge, trying to play hide and seek. if you just take an item from the fridge, you win. but if you just open and close the door then the fridge monster wins and you have to try again in a few minutes.
so next time when you open the fridge, have a good look and then you know you dont have to go back in a few minutes.
it is a great game, you have to try it.

Not sure if they return hoping something new is there.It's more a case of returning to stare despondently at what IS there, hoping that now we are hungry enough to eat that. Sometimes it even seems to work :)

Because of cartoons,they use a light bulb as a idea and when some people open the fridg they see the light come on and confuse it with a idea of new food,lol
