It's got to be new but I don't care if it doesn't have a colour screen, camera, etc. Also where do I get it from?

It is worth checking eBay as operators such as O2 sell re-conditioned mobiles for cust price. The devices are in excelent quality but have just been returned to the operator. They usually come with a 1 year warrenty.

Example Samsung E530's where selling for arround £40-£50 on ebay a few months ago

Well over the last year I got a free mobile, free contract, free minutes and messages: yes, I paid virtually nothing in the end. It's a cash-back system. See my question above. And get in touch with me - I'll let you know the details.

nokia 1100 used to be the cheapest but i've noticed it's crept up in value, dont know why. I've still got mine and I keep it as an emergency back-up, it's a fantastic little phone and brilliant batt life. Dont just go for any cheap phone, go for one that's reliable too.

are you under a contract with a company already, if you are, it may be hard to find one for free. try shopping around, but stick with the carrier that you are already with, because some carrier's phones aren't compatible with other networks, and the phone won't work. check with your wireless provider to see if they have any deals. You can usually buy a new phone without a contract for about $50-$75
