i seriously doubt the above guy has an xl-h1, but i could be wrong. ive never used one, but it is the best you can get in the prosumer category (although it can be considered professional as well), before getting into the professional category. full manual functions, hi-def and SD recording. man i would like to get me one of these, complete with skilled camera operator, since i do mostly directing.

Yes! I have this model and also I had worked with XL2 too.
It's one of the most power full camcorders that I've ever seen. If you have any question about it, ask me!
