Why are the labels on DVD's have region codes where some disks say it can be played on all regions? Same with NTSC,PAL and PAL-SECAM TV sets, cant they make TV sets that can be used anywhere in the world without those specs?

We would like to buy a digital camera, mostly for taking pictures and putting them on the pc, then sending to friesnd and family. We would like to be able to print some of them out as well though, on our printer or in the shops
We have no idea which kind are best, I have looked at some guides to see what kind would be best, in terms of pixels etc so I am a little more informed, and we thought around 3 or 4 pixels would be best for us, with optical zooming.
How much should we be prepared to pay, we are not sure of how much is fair, as there are loads of different cameras with different specs on them
and what should be the best kind to go for, we are new to digital photography and have never owned a digital camera
any ideas appreciated

I have a small cheap MP3/AM/FM player with auxiliary input that I use for my computer amp. The local FM station (89.5 MHz) signal is so strong that my speakers and speaker wires act as an antenna and cause it to pick up the broadcast when I am using the auxiliary input. The subwoofer seems to be the worst offender... What can I do to stop the interference?

I have tried: 1) relocating the speaker wires 2) shielding the speaker wires with aluminum foil and grounding the shield 3) putting the subwoofer on a grounded surface (heater register)--this was about 95% effective except at times of greatest signal reflection (typically at night)...

Any cheap way to get this to stop.. ideas I have are: a capacitor across the subwoofer; a choke on the speaker wire(s), a ground wire attached to the woofer's frame/magnet...

TIA

Usually when I download songs on my ipod it only takes a few seconds. I already imported the cd and all the songs from it are in the library and iTunes says the update is complete. However, my ipod screen stills says do not disconnect, and the songs arent there. Why is it taking so long? (over 10 minutes for a few short songs).

I have them in almost every room of my house, but I'm not sure what they're for or how they work? Its just three co-axial outlets all together and they show up in at least four different rooms and in one room there is an additional outlet right next to it with four cable outlets?

alright here is my dilema, im getting a new camcorder and i have basically narrowed it down to these three choices (sony handycam HDR-HC3, Panasonic AG-DVC30, or the CAnon GL2) unless someone can provide me with a better camera or slution! i like the panasonic for its battery life, price, and zoom i like the sony for its HD capability, zoom and price!, and i like the Canon for basically everything. Rgiht now im leaning towards the canon but im wondering if im leavin a camera off my list
my price range is basically 0-1250
the canon is 1025
the panasonic is 1139
and the sony is 759
id love some feedback, thank you!!

p.s. I would really appreciate feedback from a user who currently owns one of these fine cameras!
