"body only" means that you get only the camera basics without lens. This is of course only possible concerning (D)SLR.

The advantage is that you can combine the camera body (main functions) and lens (wide angel, zoom, tele) you need.

It means you have to buy the lens(es) separately. It does not come with even the standard 50mm lense/
