Usually when I download songs on my ipod it only takes a few seconds. I already imported the cd and all the songs from it are in the library and iTunes says the update is complete. However, my ipod screen stills says do not disconnect, and the songs arent there. Why is it taking so long? (over 10 minutes for a few short songs).

That is what my ipod does also. I just click on the eject icon (that little arrow pointing up with a line under it) next to the ipod icon after all the songs have been transferred and it disconnects.

I have an ipod, and it is really easy to download songs. Here is the process:
1. Plug in your ipod into the computer using the white cord that came with the ipod.
2. Then, open up the iPod music store.
3. Find the piece of music that you would like to buy. ( You need either a giftcard or a credit card to buy music ).
4. You can listen to up to 30 seconds of the song when thinking if you want to buy this song.
5. If you want to buy the song, click 'buy now'.
6. The process of the song downloading to your iPod take about 10 seconds.
11. If you are using a cd of your that you already own, then put the cd into the computer. Then click the 'upload' button in the top right corner. The songs will load into the iPod's library.

HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup. Unless it's set to automatic update it won't eject itself. You have to click the eject button.

As to the songs not being there, if there is no progress bar, nothing is happening. The songs were not in the right format, perhaps, but I don't understand that if they came from a CD. Sorry. Try with a different song and tell us what happens.
