IMHO, the VERY best TV out there is the Pioneer Elite Plasma. Nothing even close. Panasonic plasma's are second. Yes, you can put a plasma inside an entertainment center, assuming the unit is large enough.
Last year at CEDIA, I looked at over 100 TV's, the Pioneer was by far the best. Available at Best Buy/Magnolia.

Samsung is mid-pack, at best.

If you want a 60 or better a projection would be the best deal, but you have to change the bulbs out every 2-3 years. if money really isnt an option then you could buy a plasma for $6-9,000, which is the best technology out with no maintance. In the projection tv's samsung is the better brand, and in plasmas pioneer is the best!

I would definetely go for a Pioneer Elite plasma. Like the PRO-1410HD for a 61 inch or if you looking for a more advanced screen I'll go for a PRO-FHD1 it's a 50 inch thoe... but its a 1080P resolution screen... so it will give you twice the resolution from a regular 1080i panel or plasma.... don't even get a projection.... you will never go wrong on a plasma.... Picture is much much better.
