Anyone remember the good 'ol DOS days? Remember a suite of programs called SIDEKICK ? It had a phone dialer that would scan whatever was on your screen, find a number and dial it. Anyone know of anything similiar for Windows ?

I have a friend who has Vista,but after a long time having it on and found things going wrong he now is putting XP back on,is there anyone out there who would know the best way to do this,is it as simple as Fully formatting and reinstalling Xp ?????????????

Azureus is downlaoded on my machine already.

If I go the Spy route do I launch Azureus in the background then launch Spy? Does Az just work as a sister package but I never access it directly?

Hey, i recently upgraded to vista and i am generally satisfied but i cant play certain games anymore because they crash. I try playing company of heroes and the bsod pops up randomly, and i am also having crummy performance. The game takes longer to load and it lags(when i had xp it was smooth sailing). I also try playing guild wars and the same happens. I deleted my nividia 7900gs go drivers and let vista download and install a new driver because the one i downloaded didnt work. I upgraded my system bios to the most recent one. Can anyone help? i am pretty knowledgeable and can follow directions and download and install anything you recommend, therefore any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks again

that can actualy split large movies files between 700 -800 mb into 2 parts that i can then convert to vcd format and store into different disks to play them in my vcd player? many players i have downloaded show errors, or do not support large files such as those. i download movies using Ares.
how do you guys do it? i do not have a dvd/writer. so im relying on two normal cds.

Hi all,
I was hoping someone could help me out here.
I'm running windowsXP SP2. My "Explorer.exe" file wont run.LEaving my desktop empty.There are no icons,and my taskbar is gone as well.

I've tried the CTRL + ALT + DEL, > New Processes>Explorer.exe method. But my explorer just comes,then it crashes in less than 5 seconds.

My AVG + HijackThis + AdAware combo didnt work either.I've read in forums that reinstalling my entire system may not necessarily solve the problem.Any more suggestions?

Whenever I run Microsoft Word it usually comes up with C++ Runtime error. Well anyway the only way to fix it is to uninstall and then reinstall Microsoft Word. Does anybody know how to do this. Please describe in great detail as I am not a very technical person myself.

So, I've been getting this annoying message:
You either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player.

I've looked through the Y!A archive and discovered that I need to uninstall, then reinstall this software. The instructions say that I need to download the Adobe unistaller and then:

Save the file to your system, choosing a location where you can find it (for example, your desktop). Macintosh users may need to open or unstuff the hqx file.
Quit ALL running applications, including all Internet Explorer or other browser windows, AOL Instant Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, or other Messengers. Check the Windows system tray carefully to make certain no applications which might possibly use Flash Player are still in memory.
Run the uninstaller. This will remove Adobe Flash Player from all browsers on the system.

This is gibberish to me. Someone please explain this to me so I can understand it!

I know there is a possible way to make sure that the files you download through limewire are virus free so it wont hurt your computer but i dont remember how to do this. Does anyone know how to find out if the songs you download are virus free.
