Hey, i recently upgraded to vista and i am generally satisfied but i cant play certain games anymore because they crash. I try playing company of heroes and the bsod pops up randomly, and i am also having crummy performance. The game takes longer to load and it lags(when i had xp it was smooth sailing). I also try playing guild wars and the same happens. I deleted my nividia 7900gs go drivers and let vista download and install a new driver because the one i downloaded didnt work. I upgraded my system bios to the most recent one. Can anyone help? i am pretty knowledgeable and can follow directions and download and install anything you recommend, therefore any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks again

Sounds very much like a driver problem, look around and see if you can get an nVidia driver rather than using the Vista's own one, if not, then most likely your card is not totally supporting Vista

As to slow performance, how much memory do you have ?

well generally the BSOD signifies that there is something wrong with your hardwares, my suggestion to you is that first of all check your RAM compatibility issues/or in case faulty RAM with MSVista and if this seems OK for you then go for the compatibility for Nividia hardwares as well as it's drivers .... well as told by you that are knowledgeable then you can look for the type of STOP Error displaying in BSOD the type can give you more detailed explanation of the problem you are getting .... Best Of luck from my side ...... :-)

i'm no expert, but vista needs a fair amount of memory to run. if you're only running 512 RAM, you might have some trouble with games that require a bit more power.

Switch back to XP wait for service pack from MSoft. New OS is a waste of time

the game may not be compatible to windows vista, or might short in RAM. you need to have at least 1GB of RAM. if you do then the game is not compatible. use the compatibility feature to try to make compatible.
