i downloaded a program and i opened it up in note pad and it says the following....
- install notes-
1)mount or burn the dvdr
2)run iso install
3)run H20 Driver installer;
steinberg hypersonic.v2-H20
4)MERRY CHRISTMAS
my dvdr doent work is there any way i can install this program without burning it to a dvdr?

For example, I'm purdy darned fond of Firefox! And maybe, some other stuff - countless other pieces of software, too numerous to mention. Will they *all* run on a Mac? (And while we're at it, what's the difference between "Apple" and "Mac"? Is "Apple" the company and "Mac" the computer?)

I have ripped a DVD and have got the .vob files so if I convert them to .avi is there a way to join them with a free Video Merger?
If so please tell me where I can get one.

I need a program that can work fast, most accurate. It has to type several different voices having a conversation without programing to recognize each voice. Each meeting would have different people and I want it recorded and able to also have it typed up for me afterwards.

I am having trouble installing office enterprise 2007. I run the cd, enter my registration code (which is approved), and then the screen reads: office 2007 is preparing setup. This screen remains for several minutes then it closes and the aforementioned error pops up. I have tried uninstalling office 2003; I had no luck. I am certain the problem is w/ my computer (Dell Inspiron 6000); something w/ my system settings, but I don't know what. Any ideas?

I have used Limewire, and do not really like it.
Bearshare, I liked it a lot, but then they wanted to start charging me :[

ive used nero 7 but 4.7gb isent that great of quality and ive used windvd creator but it's over 7gb

This has nothing to do with previous questions of mine. This is my friends computer so all the information I have will be in this question.
Hes been having this problem for a while now, but now its kinda permanent. it used to act weird alot, which would result in windows needing to be reinstalled. Then there was a boot.ini problem which I fixed through the windows install CD, which was about 2 months ago. Now theres more problems.

As in, it won't start now. It goes to the bootup screen asking how you want to start windows, and regardless of what you use, it goes to the scan disk section and scans, finding errors in the 2000 sectors and the 15000-16000 sectors each time. Which it then won't start, it just goes to the Stop screen, - Stop oxooooooED Unmountable boot Volume. I looked it up, and the solutions arent going to help. Microsoft said the IDE cable could be the wrong one, or the bios is reading it as the wrong one. But, its from Dell, and it has never been upgraded..

When I rip CD's into windows media to sync them into my Creative Zen it just comes up Track 1, Track 2 etc...
How do I name the Tracks so I can tell what songs they are??

Just lately my eMac has been freezing, forcing me to switch the machine off and back on again. Now it happens 2-3 times a day. I'm really not sure why. I've deleted lot's of unwanted files etc.

An example: I go to my bookmarks to click on a bookmarked site, and as I click 'bookmarks' the machine freezes half way through and I have to restart.

...when it gets to the "Installing Windows" section, error messages appears stating that it can not copy a .dl_ file and asking me to browse for the gile, retry or cancel.

When I click on browse, the window opens up to the file that it says it can't copy. The file is just sitting there on the disc, but why can't it copy.

When I click on cancel to just continue without installing the file, the same error message appears for about 60 other files...what gives? Why is Windows XP so complicated?

Am I doing something wrong?

I recently downloaded ubuntu and created a cd image so I could give it a try. The computer is a Toshiba Satellite laptop.

Booting from the CD is unstable. Sometimes my system hangs up part way throughthe initial portion of the boot (right after loading the kernel) and other times I get all the way to the desktop but hang as soon as I open an application.

Any suggestions? Is this most likely a memory allocation problem? I have approx. 3/4 gig of ram so that should be adequate. Are there known conflicts with my Toshiba laptop?
