I am looking for a program to create .ico files on a Windows platform. I have used IconCool some years before. Right now, I'm looking at IconWorkshop 6.0 but I don't have much knowledge on this however. Is there an industry standard?

Using Version 6.5 with a PC and Windows XP Pro., I cannot find the Page Layout as shown in David Blatner's Book.
Also only the first half of the Measurements Palette is visible.
And the cursor does not blink.
Any ideas please?

I need a DVD shrink for Windows Vista. Or anything that I can copy movies to my harddrive and also shrink them.
Also another question. I`m not able to make a shortcut to my desktop for my dialup connection in Vista. Anyone have any suggestions?....I have tried everything!!!!!

My computer is sluggish. I have a decent connection to the internet (DSL) but the computer still runs slowly. I want to clean it up and make it run more smoothly, and faster. I have very little patience sometimes and just wish the computer would move a little faster than a snail. Thanks all!!

i just bought a used hp with 4.3gb ultra dma hard drive, upgraded it from 64mb to 256mb. it has windows 98 os and i was thinking of installing linux! what would you recommend, which linux would be best? i have ubuntu on disk, but am unsure of exactly how to install it, also if i mess up ihave no win 98 disk, how do i do it and get good results? thanks for all input!

I have thousands of music files saved and many include in the filename words such as "top of the charts" and I wish to remove that portion of the filename. I already downloaded a software that renames music files via the "music tags" but still I am left with portions of the filename from the music tag "title" which has words such as "top charts hits". I downloaded a software called "Filename Pro" which claims to rename multiple files but still I am not able to remove parts of the filename in a batch process. I can do it manually but not for so many.

Example of the problem: I have files named such as this -
billboard top of the charts brittney spears toxic.mp3

I want to rename hundreds at t time to be similar to this:
brittney spears toxic.mp3

Of course the hundreds will not be called brittney spears the results will be generally the following.... (artist)(title).mp3

I have a brand new very fast computer, running Windows Vista. For some reason, when playing songs or videos in Windows Media player 11 or with the Zune software, it takes like 10 seconds for the next song or video to load up and begin playing. Can someone please help me, I want a song or video in my media library to begin playing a second or two after I click on it.
