I am building a new PC (first timer) and planning to put Vista on. Any tips/hints/tricks? Thanks!!

While there are a few bugs in vista, there was in xp at first too. I have talked to professionals who think that vista ultimate is the best way to go. As far as the cpu and gpu, that is up to you. The AMD Fx 74 is really good if you are going to play games and also do graphics and such. It blows away the intel cpu

Just type "vista problems" in the Search for answers box above.

While you're waiting for MS to fix the Vista problems. Get UBUNTU (or XUBUNTU if your computer has less than 256MB of RAM).

It's a free, reliable and up to date operating system.

You can explore it from the "LIVE CD".

It's easy to install and use. You can dual boot it with other operating systems.

Once you have it installed, you gain access to thousands of free programs created by the open source community. There is excellent support - see the WIKI starter guide, and the Linux forums.

Always back up your data before making changes to your computer.

dont put vista on it xp is a much better os
