I have thousands of music files saved and many include in the filename words such as "top of the charts" and I wish to remove that portion of the filename. I already downloaded a software that renames music files via the "music tags" but still I am left with portions of the filename from the music tag "title" which has words such as "top charts hits". I downloaded a software called "Filename Pro" which claims to rename multiple files but still I am not able to remove parts of the filename in a batch process. I can do it manually but not for so many.

Example of the problem: I have files named such as this -
billboard top of the charts brittney spears toxic.mp3

I want to rename hundreds at t time to be similar to this:
brittney spears toxic.mp3

Of course the hundreds will not be called brittney spears the results will be generally the following.... (artist)(title).mp3

all programs i suggest below are non-crippled shareware or freeware

if you already fixed all the tags, then this program will rename the files based on the tags:

to rename lot's of files i use:

(easy)

(many different search/relaces at same time) http://www.virtualzone.de/filerenamer/

(many options)

once you're making use of iTunes, you need to be waiting to edit the archives on your library. it will take constantly, regardless of the undeniable fact that that's probable the only way. once you are attempting to alter the artist/album for a whole team of songs, click the single optimum interior the library, then carry shift and click the backside one. this might decide on all of the songs between those 2 songs. Now, stunning-click any of the highlited archives and click Get archives or Edit archives. substitute what desires to get replaced and that's going to get replaced for all of the highlited songs. good success with that, i might % a weekend the place you haven't any longer something to do and purely commence. :)

MusicMatch has an excellent renaming feature. (You have to have the pro version, it may be possible to crack).
