after you dowload a new type of font how do you install it into microsoft word. i need the steps?????
the font file is zipped what does that mean?

How do I remove a blank line at the beginning of the data in a cell? How do I do it quickly for many cells?

I run into a problem often where I have a block of text, with Carriage Returns in them, and I need to change the formatting of 30 to 500 (to 1000) cells quickly.

The main problem is that the first line is a blank line, and I want to remove it in all of the selected cells quickly.

Any ideas?

I have a very large list of data that every week I have to comb through to look for duplicate entries. I don't want to delete them, I just need to identify them. Is there a forumla or other function that can be done to flag the duplicates?

A little info:

250 gig HD hooked up to SATA1 port.
Installing windows from cd.
After partitioning hd for IDE/parrallel whatever and the windows setup installs the system32 files, it automatically reboots after 15 seconds. When the system boots from the HD it gives the message that it is missing the file ntoskrnl.exe

I did this:
expand d:\i386\ntoskrnl.ex_ c:\windows\system32 in Repair mode

This didn't work even though I did it from two different windows cds.

I'm going crazy I think. Someone please help.

Answers functions are everywhere: Yahoo (this one), LinkedIn, etc.

So, I want to roll out an 'Answers' platform for my company that will enable my customers to ask and answer questions about my products (consumer games). Is there an open-source platform or a COTS platform that implements "Answers" functionality?

I am completely new to Excel, and I'm trying to teach myself the basics. I have a book to guide me, but I'm finding I just find more questions than answers. So here goes...

I'm trying to write a basic spreadsheet with a few different columns to figure out how much money I'll earn by working different hours of overtime. For example, I have a column marked "Total Hours Worked," then "Total Gross," "Estimate of Taxes Taken Out," and "Total Paid." I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to set a formula for the first column. For example, the first entry would be 40 hours, then I want to go up in .25 increments up to 60 hours. Is there a way I can enter a formula somewhere to have Excel do it for me? Or do I have to enter the numbers line by line. It just seems so repetitive, I feel like I'm missing a shortcut.

Let's say I want to use Excel to add an Activity Duration to a Start time to get the End Time. For example, add a Activity Duration of 40 minutes to a Start Time of 8:00 a.m. to get an End Time of 9:00 a.m. How do I do that in Excel?

No one has seems to have answered this type of question, even though it's fairly simple I would assume.

I have two excel documents........one is a contact list with 5,200 entries (rows) with headers for each column and then things like name, address, e-mail address, etc.

Then I have another list that is also a list (of contacts) except it has only 1,200 assorted entries (rows). The columns on it are Name, Station, Frequency, etc.

How can I merge the two....i.e. query the contact list (that has full addresses, e-mails etc) to obtain information for the 1,200 in the second spreadsheet? The first column is the same for both (Name), just I need to merge the information together to form a more comprehensive list.

Make sense? Thanks.

The ultimate goal is to take the list (spreadsheet) of 5,200 contacts (that has e-mail addresses), and get the e-mail addresses for the 1,200 names.

I am looking for a free file copy tool or file manager which can copy files and directories selected from a directory tree in a single batch. Just like ntbackup.exe (integrated Windows Backup), but just for copying files and dirs.

I received this document from a person and I was asked to modified some of the elements. They asked me to remove all sources/references that were included at the bottom of some pages.

When I try to click on it to remove it, does nothing, I can't even select the text to modify it, it's just there. When I asked the "clipboard assistant" it told me to remove it from the macros/security/trusted sources, but when I get there, there is also nothing, so I can't remove it.

I decided to put white boxes on them so they wouldn't show but sometimes, when we print it, they show the box even if we don't see them in the computer document...

Help please, I need to get rid of those references.
