there are a lot of sites you can download winxp pro from, win vista even, including the site mentioned earlier but they all come with something dreadful: viruses&spyware!!! And what's more, you cannot download updates or freeware from Microsoft if you install a pirated version of the OS.. This free software can meet your needs perfectly, go to this site: http://www.ubuntu.com.. You can even request them to send you free CD's of their operating systems (Ubuntu, KUbuntu, & Edubunutu), that way you won't break any law and you can enjoy a great OS at a bargain price: FREE/LIBRE! There's also Xubuntu to be downloaded at the moment.. Someone even posted sites where you can get open source applications for these similarly open source operating systems..

BTW there are cheap ones too: RedHat, Xandros, Win98(?)..
And with the release of Vista, the prices on WinXP will definitely be slashed..

I hope this helped.. And remember that "Piracy Is A Crime!"

If you mean a free download of the whole operating system, that would be considered illegal. Your copy of Windows would not be "genuine" and microsoft would give you sever penalties for that, such as no updates, not allowing a newer service pack, and no IE7, among other things. But if a friend or family member has a XP Professional disc, they may no thave used all their licenses- each disc is good for three computers. Maybe they could lend it to you.

No need to use illegal software.

Get UBUNTU (or XUBUNTU if your computer has less than 256MB of RAM).

It's a free, reliable and up to date operating system.

You can explore it from the "LIVE CD".

It's easy to install and use. You can dual boot it with other operating systems.

Once you have it installed, you gain access to thousands of free programs created by the open source community. There is excellent support - see the WIKI starter guide, and the Linux forums.

Always back up your data before making changes to your computer.

That would be illegal my friend. And you wouldn't be able to get any of the important windows updates that your computer will need, because microsoft wil know whether or not your copy of windows is legal.
But here is a place where you can buy it.

Any free download would also B an invalid copy and therefore have an inability 2 update.

once you've the CD key (i am going to take you're note on having a valid key), you may receive homestead windows by torrents and use your key to turn on it. this technique is criminal on condition that the most important you've replaced into both offered or got here with a preinstalledd version of homestead windows.

Not going to happen. If you don't purchase with a product key, you will not be able to get updates and fixes. For a good price:
