My computer is not working well. Actually, It cant even boot. I want to partition the hard drive, install Kubuntu Edgy and then make it Dual Boot. How do I do this?

I was recently very kindly given details how to get rid of IE7 on my computer by going into ''add or remove'' programs and then clicking on updates at the top of the page. However, not only does the page not show IE7 as being there, but there is no ''updates'' at the top of the page to click on. Is there any other way that this can be achieved

Does anybody know why none of my Media Players on my computer won't play a avi file, I mean its just one movie in avi format that won't play but all my other avi movies play fine...I downloaded Pirates of The Caribean--Dead Mans Chest....its 704 MB .avi...when I play it on Windows Media Player it says ''Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file''....Even Nero won't open it...Like I said all my other avi movies work fine except this one...any suggestions?...I want to burn a DVD....

I have the Sims Deluxe, Hot Date, Vacation, Superstar, Makin Magic, Sims 2, and Open for Business. I used to have all of them installed on my computer and they ran fine. Then I uninstalled them to make more room but recently tried reinstalling some of them. Those to which I still had the key (whoops...) installed correctly but when I went to play, it said the wrong disc was in the drive. I tried it many times and made absolutely sure the right disc was in the drive, but it still won't play and has that error message. Help!

I had limewire and it was working great. I downloaded around 30 songs and then all of a sudden it stopped wokring. It let me search for songs, but everytime I tried to download them it said 'connecting' for ages and then eventually 'need more sources'. It was working great, why did it just stop workng for me?

I first notice the mouse problem while playing games in Club Pogo, such as in Bingo, I would click on a number but the mouse wouldnt mark the number or in bowling, the ball goes totally the opposite of where Im aiming it, or even just clicking on the address bar the down arrow only shows for a sec not even time for me to click on a previously opened page. I have slowed down my rate of the mouse, I have run virus checker, updated my mouse driver, I have ran adware, I have done system restore, but to no avail. This is very frustrating especially when you are playing a timed game or trying to get something done in a hurry. Would appreciate any help I can get.

windows Product activation
A problem is preveting windows from axccurately checking the licenes for this computer Error Code: oxx80070002.

This PC runs on windows xp I beilives its the XP pvs I think it was maedes 2002. But I know its a windows xp for sure. I dont have no disk for this pc do to I got it used. Is there any why to fix it with out a disk or can I donw something from the net out there. or what disk do I need to get. Plases let me. I thank for for youe time and help....

I have been workin on this for three weeks and can't get a strait answer from friends who do this or people on here>>>How do you copy onto a blank disk after u finish backing up the dvd on dvd shrink when it says insert a blank disk i do and it says checking disks and won't do anything after that please some one tell me step by step instructions on how to do this.....i have nero dvd decrypter dvd shrink and slysoft and can't make any of them work please help and only respond if you do this alot if you have never done this don't give any advice i need someone who knows what they are doing thanks bunches

I keep hearing that you need a really powerful computer to support Windows Vista?? What is this 'powerful' referring to? (Sorry don't know much about processors etc.)

I really need a laptop for work/school and was thinking of buying one with XP while they are still out (and they are going fast!!), since XP has been proven to work and everything, and Vista is sure to have problems at first.
If I get a laptop that is Vista compatible, does this mean that it is already 'powerful' enough to run Vista should I choose to upgrade?? Or do I need anything specific to run Vista later??

I've downloaded a couple of movies and I'd like to burn them onto dvd. I've tried to do this using Media Player but it keeps saying that it cannot support the file or the codec used to compress the file, but I've watched all these in MP. Is there another programme i can download to burn these films?
