I keep hearing that you need a really powerful computer to support Windows Vista?? What is this 'powerful' referring to? (Sorry don't know much about processors etc.)

I really need a laptop for work/school and was thinking of buying one with XP while they are still out (and they are going fast!!), since XP has been proven to work and everything, and Vista is sure to have problems at first.
If I get a laptop that is Vista compatible, does this mean that it is already 'powerful' enough to run Vista should I choose to upgrade?? Or do I need anything specific to run Vista later??

THANKS!!

before upgrading your operation system into windows vista, al you need to do to is access the microsoft windows website & download a software which is called Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor RC. this software helps analyze your computer & will advise you which version of vista you should install.

There're 4 different versions of Windows Vista
1) Windows Vista Ultimate (got everything installed)
2) Windows Vista Business (aka Professional)
3) Windows Vista Home Premium &
4) Windows Vista Home Basic

Just a friendly advice, do not spend any $$ on new computers with Windows XP installed (not worth anymore) as Windows Vista will be releasing soon & i am sure you'll like it.

good luck ^_^

Yeah - if they are saying it is Vista compatible then it is powerful enough to run Vista.
