Does anyone know of a software that I can connect to my pc that will allow me to send text messages (sms) to a large list of phone numbers. I do not know any of the carriers, nor do I want to purchase credits. I would like to run the complete software from my computer. I dont mind purchasing any hardware if it is required...

There are many ways to do this...
There are SMS service providers on the net like the one below.

Or you can buy a GSM Modem and install software that uses GSM modem to sent text messages. This has a limitation of 6-7 messages per minute
There are also SMS server avalable in the market for bulk messaging. For this you need a leased line from a service provider and use SMPP protocol

go to chikka.com. you can download a good program wherein you can send free text to countries that support the software. i just dont know if the receiver will be charged for that SMS that you sent for free . read their manual

I suggest you two software one is commercial and one is free.
