I have an annoying problem with Excel. In fact, when I edit a document, the text in the upper window is automatically shows and that comes over the text in the cell and as a result I can't see the whole text. I understand that I can remove the upper window where text automatically appears, but I am unable to find the function.

Could you pls help?

I just want to delete the files which is in the cache memory and the virtual memory of my computer. Can I clear it that is delete it and if so people please explain me how can I do that with a desktop computer running with an XP operating system.

I have 20 excel files, each has 36 tabs. I need to replace all the tab names ends with '06 to '07. Is there any easy way to do, instead of rename one by one for 720 times? Thank you!

All of a sudden my CPU usage is going through the roof. 60-90% and upto 100% while system idle process is any where from 88-99%. Processes arranged by usage places System Idle on top, which is appropriate, but I still get the #'s indicated above. There are brief periods where it just about balances out, but the spike happens again and can last for an undeterminable amount of time. I've tried Norton System Works (and its related utilities) Adaware SE, Norton Anit-Virus, & Trojan Hunter 4. I found some issues with Norton WinDoc and Trojan Hunter. I was able to resolve them, but the problem mentioned above was not resolved. Essentially, according to the TaskManager, my CPU is running over 100% (idle process + unidentifiable process [as all others are 0-10 usually]) I've also looked into the power supply. Any ideas?

In a couple months I will be buying a new PC. Does Vista have many issues with things like device drivers or resource mismanagement that would make it advisable to try and get XP on the new machine, and wait to update to Vista later?

Or should I take advantage of the new operating system now and be glad I am getting a new PC at such a convenient time?

Will both OSes be available from a company like Dell/Alienware or will I be forced into Vista?

When I go to dl something I really want, i always seem to run into a problem. It doesnt happen to everything just a few. I dl, then go to the folder where it went, and try to open it and it gives me..."Unable to read the dictionary of the application or extension because it is not scriptable." Then I click OK and it gives me this..."The document "???" could not be opened. Script Editor cannot open files in the "Script Editor Document" format. How can I fix this? The file I dl always says its for Mac but maybe it really isnt? Its usually a game or something and after it finishes dl, it just a picture of a document and not a file like its suposed to be. Thanks for your help in advance.

In addition to the file i have another log file by same name and 2 other files with pf extension. The exe file appears in the windows explorer window when i open a folder or a removable drive and then dissappers from the window without a trace.Also i have noticed it in the processes list when i press 'ctrl+alt+del'. Also i tried scanning the file with antivirus and did not get any error or warning message. please advice as i have not noticed this before.Is this a normal windows file(I am using XP windows)
