I've used Nero and WindowsMediaPlayer for years but I'm looking for something different. I know these are both good but I'm having trouble with them right now.

Whenever I insert a cd into my laptop i get a box which asks me what do i want to do, so i choose to allow itunes to "show me" the songs on the cd,
but when i start to play the songs back its skipping continuously, but when I play the cd back in Windows Media Player it sounds totally fine no skips at all,
ive tried closing all other applications and al that but Itunes just keeps making my cd skip, anybody kno why?

I have two data sets, I need to show the difference in peaks in their log normal curves, and I'm having problems firstly sorting the data into more than 10 bins as it seems to ignore whatever I type into the helpful 'how many bins' section. Secondly how do I get them both into the same histogram? Step by step instructions would be very useful as I'm hopeless with this stuff.

I'm a pc head, but man, windows is such a headache sometimes and I'm very computer literate. My friends call it legosoft because you have to customize it just right to work well i.e. registry hacks etc. I have been reading the reviews about vista and they all say microsoft stole from Mac. Should I just get a mac with intel and run bootcamp or parralells to have stable computing?

When my pc boots up it starts up quicktime and some other programmes. How do i get it to stop these starting up , i.e take them off startup? When i look at start/all programmes/startup they arent even on that? thanks and merry xmas
