Windows Media Player can rip unprotected CD's as MP3's. There are multiple other alternatives to choose from as well.

Currently I use AudioGrabber for almost everything. It has the great advantage of being free:

I've also used Easy CD-DA Extractor which works well, but you have to pay for it after the trial period is over:
http://www.poikosoft.com/

Both interface with CDDB or other database to automatically populate the track list with the correct track name.

Try AudioGrabber first since it is free. There won't be any compelling reason to try anything else.

music match juekbox unless u want free then stick with windows media player and if u have windows xp upgrade the media player to version 11

You can use iTunes to do that and it also helps you organise your music on the PC even without an iPod; download it free from apple.com/itunes and ones installed open click edit, then preferences, then advanced, then importing and select "import using MP3 decoder".
