Software - September 2006

I have transfered a 120GB SATA H.D.D to a 200 similar using MAXBLAST 4.
Now my system boots, I log on to Windows, no Icon and the Task bar dissappears.
It Seems SOme part of Windows related to dispalying the desktop is not functioning correctly. any advice???

I have a couple of programs on my computer that just wont uninstall, someone recommended CClean but it didnt help any, are there any good progs out there that will scrub these offending programs???

I have stayed for some days without an antivirus.What a stupid I was.One day, I obesrved that I wasn`t the administrator of my PC , when I tryed to re-enalble the virus protection from an anti-virus(I installed). I had a message : that I wasn`t the administrator of my PC. Lolll. I have formated my C: drive , and reinstalled windows. But for what? For nothing. :( I installed again the Panda antivirus (and updated) and I maked a scan and there sayed that aren`t viruses. But I clicked on Vulnerabitys and sayed that I have .... a lot ! I count them and there were ~ 30 . Like Zotob A , B , C , D , etc. , Ctreatxt or somethin` like that , Oscar , etc. And I had 5 hacking tools , 4 were deleted automatically and 1 I delett by myself. I was afraid to not have backdoors but I think I have,I don`t know. I have reformated just C: !! I reinstalled Windows Media Center XP , (like sp 2,the same thing almost) and know also installed BitDefender 9 pro I think , I update it etc. Now he said after a full scan that I have Trojans and stuff in D: !!! Where I didn`t expected. In some files like : "intcodec" (a codec) , "antispam" , other. I cannot delet them. What shall I do? I should formatate the D: ? :( Also there I have files that I need but I will not have now any wishes , I just want my computer clean. In past I observed that I received Invalid atack from IP etc. 215.36 ..... etc. but my PC blocked it. What can I do know to rid from all this stuff? And I formated the C: and reinstalled windows 2 or 3 times these 2 days and observed that in C:\Documents and Settings\User(Me)\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files I cannot delet some files and seems that there are still infected stuff I think. Are those comeing from D: ? I have scanned know and look an error:

C:\DOCUME~!\USER(ME)~1\LOCALS~!\Temp|Wer0a8e.dir00\accompat.mdmp I`m confused and scared. And I cannot update my PC , even if I update patches for this vulnerabitys,it won`t apply,because you know. But what can I do? From net what could I download? Please tell me a link or give me suggestions!! I want all this nightmare to end. I cannot delet all this stuff. Should I what? Please tell me. actually i switched offed comp without shut down process..so when i opned again it said something about change power source or something..and switched off.and now its not switching on..help anyone plz!!!!!!!!

i have a dell 600m with windows 2000 on it. i was usin it and it hung suddenly.so i shut it off directly!.
i turned it on again and on the startin windows screen it stops loading and says:
"the following file is corrupt or missing
c: winnt/system32/config/system
"u may try fixing it using the original windows utility disk."
so i tried it but no luck.
it dosnt even install new windows .
while checking disks it hangs on 87%
please help thanx in advance

I had AOL once again and I knew not to try them again but oh well I did.. My computer did something like crash...awwhh so i had to down load everything back in by getting gateway to help..I have their computer. well, I do not have any sound and my computer say it can not find any sound device. There has to be a place in this thing I call a computer.. I really don't want to have to buy a sound card or spend $ at a shop to fix it.

Someone close to me I found out hada key logger on their computer, i found out because the computer randomly created a symbol for it one day on the task bar and it had been install in september so i have no idea how that happened. Anyway, i was really upset that i thought i was being spied on so i asked him what its for (we live in apartments) and he said that he thought maybe next door were someone getting into his computer through the wireless internet. I thought this was bullshit as ive had a look at sites and they seem to say that they record stuff from an individual computer, what do you think? and is there anyway i can find out whether there are things like that installed again??

I can understand that Windows does the job and why bother about Linux?.But we have to be openminded.May be we are brain washed by MS and we think this is what a computer can do.May be a computer can do something better and may not be possible through windows architecture.Some real experts can throw some light on this topic.
