some rf waves are very harmful. mobile phone works on 900 Megaherz. Microwave wave oven works on 2300 Mhz (Megaherz) but small power. The tv program from satelite is comoing down to earth at the frequency of 10000 Mhz. These frequencies are propagated directly straight and if they come to an object like building they are reflected and they can not go further. Low freqeuncies are not harmful because they are propagated like waves and the waves for 27 Mhz CB radio are about 10 meters or 30 feets high and they can pass over objects like buildings and mountains. They can be recived on the other part of the world - globe.

Yes , RF should be treated with the same respect as Mains Power .

I still have a small burn mark on my finger from touching the end of a wire dipole that had a powered up and Transmitting 27Mhz 5 Watt CB radio back in 1978.

There was no pain , the first I knew about it was the smell of the burning skin .

RF can kill at the right Wattage , It needs to be treated with respect regardless of the frequency

It depends on the power of the transmission and what type of RF waves. You would not want to stick your head in a microwave oven which uses RF energy.lol

only if exposure to them is concentrated and/or high wattage for long periods of time ... you are surrounded by RF all the time from every radio source on earth and from space. ... dont stand in a focused beam and you should be ok
