3. Virus proof, cracker free, Linux runs all 45,000 Microsoft.com, Hotmail.com, Msn.com computers.
4. Microsoft's Redmond campus routers and campus servers and lab systems all run Linux.
5. Microsoft has used portions of Linux and BSD code embedded into the Microsoft system for more than 12 years. Finally paid the contracted royalties, under court ordered penalties, in 2005, for more than $100 million, to several Universities and companies that had developed the code!
6. Microsoft was just violated for it's probation violations for the multiple felony convictions, by the DOJ courts. Three more years of probation are tacked on, for theft, stealing from the consumer!!!
Just go and get one of the 800 FREE Open Source OSes!

If you mean how many programs can run at once, it depends on how much ram you have and how many other programs are running in the background you don't know about.
