Did you try the Windows's backup utility?

Try your CD or DVD software and see if that will work with scheduler. You'll find that uner accessories. Winace will back up your whole drive and compress it. Then copy the files to CD or DVD if you have all your program disks - you probably only need to back up documents and setting on a regular basis. That's what most people do. But make sure you have copies of the Cabinet files for any programs you have downloaded and the activation keys.
