Software - July 2006

I have quickbooks simple start special edition already installed on my computer. Im a home user and i dont plan on using it for anything for any finacial reasons and the program takes up a load of memory 595 mb but my computer says i occasionally use it (i dont recall using it) but if i delete it what will happen? Will it cause any programs to not work?

I love Microsft Word, the only thing that sucks is that is lacks an Old English Font. Is there a download available anywhere? Or is there a Freeware Word Proccesor program I could download that is better than Microsoft Word/

i am ripping my dvd movies for backup but the dvd ripper software i obtained does not have the subtitles in the converted output. is it possible to rip the subtitles and embed them in the movie as well? or is there a FREE dvdripper software that does this?

I purchased a package called 'X Pert DVD Maker'. It came with a video capture card (which was installed into my PC tower) and software. It all cost around $39. Anyway, the card captures the video from my CamCorder just fine. But after I use the software to edit and make the video really cool, the audio and video are out of sync when I burn to DVD. It seems to get worse as the DVD plays. At the end, it is ALL out of sync. Is this just cheap software that I am using? Sould I buy more expensive editing software? Or am I doing something else wrong? At any rate, this is unacceptable! Thanks...
