Software - July 2006

Ok. This is sort of random but for some reason when I got up this morning and turned on my PC from hibernation, I noticed that when I tried to copy and paste it simply didn't work. I tried copying an address from my internet explorer to chat with Skype and then to the Yahoo answers box and nothing worked.
I know that restarting my computer will probably solve this problem but I was hoping for a solution in which I could keep all the programs I have, open.
Could someone tell me what to do?

On XP the start menu all programs menu has three rows on my screen. I have used all three rows and have installed an other program I can't find it on the start menu. How do I change my preferences/setting to fix this problem?

i can't start installed programm and get "please insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart application" notification. I tried some programms like AntiBlaxx, Diamond, Alcohol 120% and Sd4Hide, and they don't help.

i am using Nero 6 and when i want to burn a cd it only has 'Image recorder' in the 'Choose recorder' option. My cd/dvd R says it is working properly so i can not understand why i can't burn cds. Please somebody help.

I currently have Paint Shop Pro at the minute but was wondering which one was better? and why?

Why is Paint Shop Pro better the Photo Shop or why is Photo Shop so much better than Paint Shop Pro?

Ive seen loads of tutorials on the net to do pretty much the same thing and was contemplating changing to photo shop.

I have recently made a radio station - www.shizzfm.piczo.com
And I have to admit it's pretty crappy..
And one reason it's crappy is because the Microphone im using.. Which came with the Sing Star game Playstation 2, doesn't have any proper drivers, so it doesn't allow certain options on shoutcast.

I have downloaded some drivers to make my Eyetoy work..
But because the Sing Star mic works basically on MSN, and most other programs, just by plugging it in..
I don't know if anyone has bothered making any..

But I have tried searching..
And had no luck..

So if you know a site.. That has hacks or something on.. Please tell me..

Hello... I am going to "back up" some of my DVD collection, and have 4.7gb discs. I hear that DVD shrink will compress the original from 9gb to 4.7gb, and as such allow the film to be burned to 1 disc. I will be using NTI to burn.

Now then:

a) have you any idea typically how long the compression technique takes?

b) are there any problems or glitches to look out for when using the compressed file to burn onto disc, eg need to burn at slower speed?

c) can I play the compressed copied disc in a regular DVD player ie not a PC without any problems? Also do subtitles copy too?

I have been researching but need clarification on the above points. Muchly appreciated.
