i am getting some of the files frm my friends whch i am not able to open them in my pc they say tht its opening in their pc n cant say the reason why its not opening in my pc

SWF is a Shockwave Flash file which requires the Macromedia Flash Player to view. You can download it at the link below. Note the company has been bought up by Adobe.

The easiest is usually to save the .swf file and then to drag the file into an Internet Explorer window.
It's better to install Flash Player, but you may not want to go to the trouble.

If you wish to view an swf file, just open it with Internet explorer and you can view it. That should do it.
Alternatiely, you can go to adobe website and install flash player.
