is there anyway i can get a symbol or anything to flash or do something at the bottom of my screen as new mail arrives or does this not happen with yahoo mail, and also it shows me as having no unread messages when i know i have some in the folders, can somebody please help as this is a bit inconvenient for me when i am working at the computer and cannot see any mail coming in

Basically, i heard DVD+R has better audio quality or something. My DVD player and burner take both DVD+/-R. Its just when i go out and buy some blank DVD's ive been buying the DVD+R, because i thought they were better. I haven't had any problems with backing up anything. I just want to know if DVD+R's will be just as good without wasting my money.

any explanations on why its better or if anyone uses both can explain their thoughts about it, would be great!

I've always used my hard drive in my computer to store important documents/datas/pictures. Now I am thinking of transferring all those important documents into a flash drive. Are those tiny portable usb flash drives safe and reliable as regular hard drives in my computer? If so, I am thinking of transferring everything into the flash drive and erasing it from my hard drive in my computer. I have about 1 gig of important documents & pictures.

it was working fine when I bought it, then I deleted all songs to add new ones and now it won't show up in my computer. It shows up in device manager and says its working . Its a Craig 256mb personal mp3 player.

Ok, so somehow, I can no longer select a wallpaper for my desktop. I have tried going into the display setting on the control panel. Within these settings it won't let me scroll down and select to picture. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

I called my cable company because I could not get the internet on my computer.They said because it's running so slow, it probably needs to be cleaned out.
How do I clean it out, and get it to a faster pace?
Do I have to delete anything?
I'm not a genius at computers so try and keep it simple lol

THis blue sky looks like the stationery I use for my e mails. When I send an e mail, nothing is attached by me, or indeed shows as an attachement even when you looks at it in "sent e mails". Thanks

how can my system restore be not working, computer crashed and tried everything to re-boot it then tried to restore the system bet it says there is no restore point, would i like to create one but i have numerous restore points, can not even restore it from inserting the disc and starting again, all it does is restart it from when the problem began. what can i do.

this is what happend.....I reinstall my windows XP last night ...
But it wasn't with the orignial key that came with the Cd cuz someone took it off!!! It say that there are left 30 days after the activation... what??? does that means after this 30 days i won't be able to use my windows xp??

Is there a way i can get my old key back??

when i turn it on it comes on fine, but then a message box comes on saying something like 'windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close'. Sometimes, but rarely, it then just goes fine. But usually when i click on, say, internet explorer, a message comes up saying 'internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close'. Same thing happens with windows media player and other stuff, and i cant get on them. Then sometimes the comp freezes. Its been doing this for a few days now. I tried system restore but its still the same. What can i do?
