I want to replace the Windows XP desktop icons with new icons I've downloaded. I've tried right clicking on properties, but the 'Change Icon' button isn't there. I'm guessing for the system icons there's a more complexed way of changing them. If anyone can help, that would be golden.

Can anyone tell me how to compress a file so i can e-mail it? I tried and it said that the file was to big. So someone told me to compress it, but I dont know how!

I was writing a paper, when i was done and i went to print it. i was saving the paper, and then i forgot to save it a last time before i went to print it. then my stupid computer decides to restart on me, and i lost it!!!!!!!
when i restarted my computer, it recovered some of my file, and then i saved it.
i went to go open it, and all my info is gone!!!!!!!!!!
it went back to the original file!
is there a way i can get back recovered documents once they are gone from the recovered documents window?
please, i am desperate, ive been working on it for so long, my stupid comptuer's fault!!!!!!!!! :'(

I have had a computer that i havent used in along time, and thus forgoten the passoword into it. I want to wipe it out, cause i dont have the password, but also because it is cluttered with programs, and virus eaten. As well, i dont remember what else is on there, and just re do everything for simplicity, unless someone knows how to recover a password, without logging into it.

I have this marquee on my myspace with icons in it, and it just scrolls by like a regular marquee. i was wondering what the code is for a regular marquee, but when you put your mouse over it, it stops scrolling? and then you take your mouse off and it scrolls again, etc. Thanks!

HELP! I got a Dell Latitude Cpi a few months ago and I Desparately neeed now to find a online instruction book for it. Please help! Better yet--Does anyone know what the hot key is for this computer... Is that possible? I want to make a CD or DVD which ever I can like a restore point where everything that i have downloaded can be recovered if I should catch a virus like i did before. I dont want to have to reboot and load all the windows xp updates and alll the applications again. If there is a way to do this, can someone please break it down to me in lame dummy terms..i dont know much about my computer, only what i want to do with it not how. If it helps I have acronis 10.0 and acronis disk director. Please someone help i dont wanna have to go thru that installing again.
