I'm fed up with Windows and about ready to buy a Mac. Anyone try to switch but ran into a problem, and regretted the decision? Or go for it?

i'm looking at this laptop that i might buy
but it only has 64MB of RAM
will that effect the graphics and how good they are???

In the summer I got a new, fairly budget Toshiba L40 laptop from PC World with Vista installed. I have a problem that's getting worse - sometimes when I'm playing video I get the blue screen of death, it doesnt happen every time I'm watching something but it happens fairly frequently and only ever crashes when there's a browser with a video playing.
Someone suggested to me to see if I had the latest driver downloaded, I know what video card it is but is it ok to just download another driver since there must already be one installed? And is it possible that PCWorld (yeah i know they're crap) sell laptops with the wrong/not sufficient driver installed?? Or can you think of another reason for this problem

ok i need help plz i bought this laptop from a friend of mine but the problem is when i turn it on i can't get through the windows because of the password they ask me to put the user name and the password. the problem is my friend forgot what the password was is there any way to unlock this password? plz help me.

I know, weird problem, but I can't find the driver where you insert CDs. I have a fujistu lifebook w/ windows xp, and i know it has the driver, i just can't find how to open it!!! :)

I have a Dell Inspiron 1521 with Windows Vista Home Premium and for some reason I come home from work and all of my USB ports not working and I want to know if anyone know how I can fix this poblem and what could cause this. And just to let you know I have a pretty ok knownledge about computers.

Helpp! i just bought this new HP customized laptop, because i didnt like my sony one. I got the highest graphics available, but when i watch my videos on windows media player....they are not clear! and i mean ..they are pixelated!!! not bad quality, but my other laptop quality was so much better!! What the heck?? Why is this so?? Can i change the settings? the resolution settings dont affect it, and i dont know what else does!! Please tell meee why its like this and can i change it??? because these graphics are notttt clear...its GeForce8600 or something like that. and i miss my old one :-(

My Dell DVD player (SONIC CinePlayer) fails to reproduce the audio of a DVD, a few days ago it was functioning properly, don't know why suddenly this happened

could it be a virus affecting the DVD player?? if you know of some could you post them so i can look for them in my C:://

BRAND NEW HP dv6448se will not boot at all. It immediately comes up with an error message. There isn't even enough time to get to "safe mode." System recovery disc will not work at all. Ordered one from HP and that one won't work either. Optical drive is also functioning. After hitting F10 and running the system test(s), both tests pass.

Anyone have a clue what's going on here? HP doesn't know what's wrong and neither does Geek Squad.

By the way, it has windows Vista. (Which I personally hate.)

I purchased a laptop from a girl I work with as she bought a new one cause she says this one was junk.
I can usually repair laptops but the hard drive has a lock on it and can not get anywhere with it. I have tried a manual unlock and an auto unlock and nothing is working. The lady doesn't know the password she says her son locked it up before passing. Would anyone be able to help me unlock the hard drive please?

I mean in Australia it costs like $1600 and it doesnt even have a proper graphics card or dedicated graphic memory. It has a low end intel card instead that just shares with the main ram. Should I just go with like a Dell inspiron with vista instead? The main reason I'm leaning towards a PC is because they are generally cheaper. Macs look cool but!!! argghhh i cannot decide

I bought an HP Pavilion ze4800 about 3yrs ago and sent it from the US to Asia to sell it but somehow, the brand new computer's battery died on the way to there. When i got it back after 2 weeks and charged it, the icon shows that it was charging but after 7 hours, it still didnt work. It only works with the AC power connected. Any ideas?

Before I ask please don't laugh and please don't tell me that the laptop is a dinosaur.
A frend of mine has given my son a laptop, it is a Toshiba780 and pentium 2. It has an internal modem (dial up) and runs windows 98. My question is that my son would like to use the laptop on broadband internet,is this possible? I know absolutely zilch about pc's and laptops, I hava a pc which is on Tiscali Broadband and would like to know if my son can have a modem fitted that enables broadband or ADSL or whatever it is that we use.

it says because of missing file..then it says you can attempt to fix this by repairing it with windows setup... so I did that, I ran windows setup from a windows xp installer..when i tried to repair it, it says "no hard disk detected, repair not done." what does this mean? when I tried to format it, it also indicated "no hard disk detected..." what could I do? what's wrong with my laptop? please help me. thanks a lot guys and gals.

i want a note book but every one wants me to get a decks top one i have a hp decks top one that is not working useing some one elses now may get one for xams i hope. they keep saying the note books dont last long as the decks tops pc do thanks. sorry typeing fast.
