Do you know how to go into the bios?
It would be good to verify the bios sees the hard drive. If it don't recognize the HDD then it probably has corrupted boot files. Or the HDD has crapped out or maybe........a connection has come loose but it's doubtful from what you say about the problem.
Also try F8 on boot and try to boot up in safe mode.
The main thing if the bios has lost the drive then it will never boot. And you said you used a Windows disk and it booted up with it and had no disk detected sooooo IMHO it's a HDD gone bad.

pretty much i have to reiterate what people before me said. the only addition is that you may have something wrong in your registry. now you may not know how to access it, but a friend might. and if that person wanted to get revenge on you, he/she couldhave gone into your reg, deleted that, and possibly other files and/or settings, and screwed you over. that would be really hard to fix, take a lot of time to figure out the source of the problem, and if you take it to a computer store, a lot of money.
also, i hate to say it... but windows OS's have lots of major holes on their firewalls and all over the entire system to be frank with you. any decent hacker could get onto your computer, and do pretty much anything he/she wants with your computer. this is a possibility. some hackers are random, and just tap other computers for fun and interest, while other target people. you MAY have been the target of a hacker, intentionally or not. when a hacker get on your comp, they know pretty much everything to do to screw with you any way they want to. so this could be the problem.
in my opinion, the suggested problems stated above me are pretty accurate, but i had to let you know of other possibilities. some people think that just because they have firewalls and anti-virus means they're immune to anything... not true

It either means you have a defective hard drive, a defective/incorrectly installed cable, or that someone messed with your computer. For example, maybe someone changed the jumper settings on the hard drive to make it a slave, so you have no master hard drive.

Crap cleanser is super although you dont choose this to look at your initiate up issues. bypass to regulate panel and click on gadget comments, this permit you to comprehend precisely what's inflicting the difficulty, it could even restoration it in case you seek for the answer. If it cant restoration it then you definitely can bypass into gadget Configuration ( bypass to run and form gadget config), then bypass to start up programmes and un examine the only that gadget comments tells you is having the difficulty. additionally uncheck any programmes on Startup that dont ought to run while initiating, this might velocity your pc up, as you wont have hundreds of programmes attempting to run

Hi. If you are lucky it is just a loose cable, otherwise the drive may have failed.
