I bought an HP Pavilion ze4800 about 3yrs ago and sent it from the US to Asia to sell it but somehow, the brand new computer's battery died on the way to there. When i got it back after 2 weeks and charged it, the icon shows that it was charging but after 7 hours, it still didnt work. It only works with the AC power connected. Any ideas?

If the battery pack is dead and won't charge check and see if it can be taken apart. Some laptop batteries are made so you can replace the cells, and if so maybe just one cell has gone bad.

If not a new battery is the answer.

If it's 3 years old now, you can forget warrantee. Batteries do die, although I'm not sure what got yours. The only question now is whether you want to buy a replacement.

have you tried a new battery or are you trying to charge the orginal, the orginal may have been damaged in transit
