By normal use I mean playing games on normal settings, work with office and dreamweaver, do some programming and some photo/maybe video editing. Not multi tasking that much.

Core 2 duo 2.0Ghz
2GB 667mhz ram
Geforce 8600m gt 256mb dedicated memory
250GB HDD(5400rpm)
15,4'' Display

I'm mostly concerned about the graphic. These are the specs and I can't upgrade them while purchasing it anymore.
The games I'm planning on running would be mostly 'The Sims 2', 'Counter Strike-Source' and 'Age of empires 3'

When I try to start my laptop I get a weird error message that says "The application or DLL c:windows/system32/shell32.dll is not a valid windows image. please check against installation diskette". What the heck do I do now? I even tried to restore with my recovery disk and nothing happens.....HELP!

My laptop crap'd out on me, I need that disk. ANyone know were to get them illeglly on the net? Im broke as a joke.

I dont just need the drivers on the disk, I need the disk in general, becuase I used a program called "kill disk" and my hard drive is gone. All the partions and everything, all i get is a black screen with a blinking cursor.

P.S.
I have no floppy drive,
And it will not recognize my Windows ME disk?
Basically Im up **** creek... Thanks kill disk, really thank you...

My laptop is a HP Pavillion ZE4900, I just bought a new battery and power supply to see if that would fix the problem but my laptop still won't start. The light just keep blinking orange after couple hours trying to charge it.

I am a civil engineering student and I need a new laptop. I will be getting AutoCad and I need a lot of memory to store all my projects, plus, I am a big music and movie fan so I would be downoading and storing a lot of stuff. I want something that is fast and reliable. I like the new dell laptops but I am just unsure what specs I need. Any help would be great!!! Thanks

i need a new power supply for this BFG NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT 512MB Video Card that i want to buy, but i never changed the power supply before. will this change of power supply effect other components? or harm them?

P.S i have a 7350 LE Nvidia right now, do i need to change the power supply if i change to another 7000 series?

My laptop, a dell d800 with 1gb of ram and 60gig hard drive on xp pro is acting kind of weird. It's the hard drive actually. When I check out how much space is left it says that there's 6gig free. I don't understand what's talking up all of the space. My itunes has 14.72gb of music on it so it can't be that. I've deleted all videos and although I've got lots of word and pdf files there's no way they're taking up almost 40gb of space. I don't want to reformat if at all possible because I've heard the windows backup tool is pretty poor and I risk losing my data. Even if I do back it up I don't know how to get my library back onto my laptop from an external hard drive without running into some sort of glitch. I defrag often, use crap cleaner, and all that stuff but no luck. Suggestions???

Okay, my laptop only has 34GB of hard drive space, it doesn't have enough RAM to do anything with, and I'm planning on going to college in the fall and majoring in Computer Programming and minoring in Computer Maintainance. I don't think my delicate laptop is up to par with what I plan on doing.

My father broke his hard drive in his $2000 Dell laptop a few years ago. He specifically asked for a computer that he could use for gaming, and thus his wish was granted. So, surely his computer will have enough RAM to actually get things done.

I know only the basics about computers. Would I be able to slide the hard drive out of my laptop and put it into his, and it actually work? I mean, I know I'll still only have a 34GB hard drive, but maybe I'll have better RAM? I just need some help. If this won't work, please tell me how I can make my puny laptop beter without spending a lot of cash.

hi, im trying to transfer a few large files between my laptop and my pc, i have the laptop and pc both connected to a bt voyger router via there enthernet connections,

i have been into the network connection but carnt seem to figue it out,

the pc is running windows vista premium and the laptop windows xp home.

I recently got a free Dell laptop. I want to upgrade the processor and the RAM on it, but I can't seem to find the socket type on the processor. The processor it uses now is a 1-GHz/733-MHz Pentium III-M. Anyone know what socket type this is?

Hello, We have a second hand laptop (free) due to the previous owners had ran out of warranty etc...

The laptop works fine, seems like there is nothing wrong, then all of s sudden, the power just goes, its completely random, it can be when your loading windows, or when your an hour or 2 into windows.

The laptop is a travelmate (acer) 210T, was running ME, now running windows XP What do i do?
