Try going to the disk itself. Using My Computer, click on the CD Drive and browse for the install program. This just means that the Autoplay feature is not working on that disk.

If you cannot access the disk, there may be problems with the drive.

How old it the laptop? It sounds like the CD/DVD drive has gone kerplunk.

Under heavy use these drives don't last as long as one might think the lazer goes bad or gets dirty and won't read the disk.

You could get a disk drive cleaning disk and try that.

Have you checked to make sure AUTOPLAY is enabled?

The same thing happend to my laptop and I never did get it fixed but I was told it needed a new lens, the part which reads the disk, you will probably need to have someone to take a look at it for you!
