The Dell runs Windows Vista. The MacBook runs Mac OS X Leopard (and Windows if you choose to do that).

Both are good computers. If you want cheaper then the Dell is the way to go. The macbook is very pricey but well worth it. I went from windows to macs too and it took a little getting use to. But I would never go back.

dell's are kinda full of useless crap. like they preload a bunch of stuff that takes up space and is not needed. macs are straight forward and give you what you need. but they do cost more then they should. dell inspiron is kinda da lower end dell laptop so yeah. get a mac if your getting a laptop.

mac is making about a 250% profit while dell is making about a 80% profit....
go with a dell
i reccomend a dell 1520
2.0GHz processor
2GB RAM
256MB RAM video card
9 cell battery
if you got that on a mac... you be at about $2200
as with dell you will be at $1200
