Laptops & Notebooks - November 2007

I.accidently.spilled.some.broth.on.it.yesterday.and.I.cannot.use.the.spacebar.
Most of my keys work properly now.

I.am.trying.to.use.the.period.as.a.space.
I also use alt+32 as an alternate key for spacing.

I have been using compressed air to dry it,but still won't work.
Whatelse can I use to dry it?

For christmas this year i am asking my parents to buy me a laptop, i understand its a lot to ask but i have my reasons...
im only 16 so it doesn't need to be a very elaborate laptop. I also want it to be cheap, we're not made of money and i want it to be a reasonable price, yet good quality.
i really like dell. and i need to be able to get internet connection.

i want to upgrade my t5450 cpu for something thats got a 800mhz bus and 2+ghz , i know all the intel core2 duo cpu
specs from intels site but they dont say what socket they use so please could you tell me what socket this chip works in so i dont have to take my laptop to bits just yet !!

okay,I can use a computer but I'm really illiterate about GB,MB,RAM,MEMORY.I know a little but not enough.it's for my 18 y/o art school son,graphic designs,etc.please give brands,specs I need and best prices if possible.Walmart had that Acer but I read it had very little space?thanks,all.

I have a HP Pavillion desktop and have had absolutely no problems with it, but i want to get rid of the desktop clutter.
I use the computer primarily for e-mail, playing online games, nothing very graphic things like poker. Have never bought a game but may in the future. I do use a printer a lot. Have never downloaded music or videos. What would you suggest I get ? I have highspeed cable internet and a lot of folders with saved sights so i do need space. Would like to stick to an HP because I have been very happy with it.

Purchased August 2006. What is the best place to have this done at...a big box store like Best Buy, or a small business that does laptops? Also, HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

Hi,
I know this kind of technical question is better posted on their website/forum, but that is not running so well, so I try my luck here (Stepnote 12" ST5340T).
In the BIOS booting sequence menu, there is an option of "nVidia" something, something followed by cd-rom and SATA harddrive. The only hardware associated with nVidia is my graphics, why can it used to boot up the ssytem, and can I upgrade the BIOS to enable booting from USB devices?? thank you!

I just looked at the 1gb ram of my new TZ150 and it came out to be PC2-5300 (667 Mhz)!!!! All the sony specs say that ram speed is PC2-4200 (533 Mhz) and equal to fsb speed, which made sense. But what's up with the 667 Mhz RAM from Qimonda? For those of you thinking to upgrade to 2GB, this is the original 1GB that it comes with:

Now, I'm still going to upgrade to 2GB, but have the following questions:

1) Did anyone check their RAM and confirms the PC2-5300 667Mhz module?
2) For those of you already owning a 2GB RAM TZ model, what kind do you have?
3) If so, should I go with buying a 2GB 667Mhz module or stick with the production specs of 2GB 533 Mhz?
4) I believe a 667 Mhz RAM would not harm my system, it would just not work at its full speed -am I correct?
I am quite confused at this point and would appreciate any help. If you did check your RAMs (esp 2GB), could you please reply with the full model number printed on RAM sticker?
