Not very often, I have only heard of one crashing out of all the latops I have come in contact with, but replacing one is cheap nowaydays so Its not a big deal.

Not very often. But it depends how you treat you HDD's

One little insight, HDD's today are rated to last high amount of hours, and this translates to up to 50 years with good care.
