I mainly just want to use a lap-top for word processing and printing. But if my access to the internet ceases away from home, I may have to establish a connection and access at home.
(As I wouldn't be able to afford the expense of broadband, I would need to purchase a pre-paid dial up connection instead)
However I don't use the internet for games, video editing, graphics, etc.

I could buy either 1 of 2 HP Compaq Presario's
The cheaper one, is the C710TU with:
Celeron M 530 (533 MHz) processor and 512 RAM

compared to the C719TU model with:
Duo Core Processor and 1 GB of RAM.

(Both come with Windows Vista - one of the Home Editions/versions)

When i baught my A100-OFH core duo laptop from Bestbuy, it said the maximum memory i can upgrade is to 2GB DDR2.

1.5 years has passed and larger memory modules has been released, i found my laptop model number on the internet in PDF form, i checked all the specs and they are all exactly the same as mine, except for one thing. It said the maximum memory allowed is 4GB?

My laptop is called a Toshiba Satellite A100-OFH and my model number is PSAA8C-OFH003.

Since my laptop supports dual-channel, i am planning to buy 2x2GB of DDR2 ram. If my laptop was to only hold maximum 2GB, and i add in 4GB, will my laptop take any damage? Even if it's minimal.

Also, i am unsure of what speed my laptop can take, it never really said it when i first baught my laptop from Bestbuy.

The current ram modules in my laptop right now are 2x512 DDR2 533MHz PC2-4300(266MHz) on dual-channel. I believe SO-DIMM laptop memory is backwards compatible as well? Correct me if i'm wrong.

my laptop is telling me i should change my battery or do something about my outlet(something like that)
also sometimes my laptop just turns off all by itself radomly whats up with that?
so how can i get around frm changing my battery, if i have to change it where should i buy a new one and how much do u think it'll cost?

Ok, so I may be asking a dumb question, but here it goes. I currently have a laptop hooked up to cable internet. I want to get a wireless router so that I can take my laptop anywhere in my house. Alright, there are a few things holding me back from buying a Mac, so if you consider yourself an expert of sorts your input would be appreciated.
1.)I already have a copy of Microsoft office for PC, could i just install that on the make and bypass buying office again for mac?
2.) many of my programs are PC exclusive, like zune, can i still run zune on the mac as long as i run it on the PC side?
3.) i know macs can run both, do they come with windows on them or am i gonna have to cough up 300bucks for vista?
4.) How well do they stand behind their products, I've had negative experiences in the past and am a bit unsure about commiting to these people.
5.) i download a lot of music and movies, would the mac prevent me from doing so just because its "illegal"?
6.) is there any anti-virus for macs? i do a lot of dumbshit on computers.
7.) does anyone know where to get one with a reasonable price?
I want a black one with 2GB RAM.

My toshiba is not being charged up by the AC adapter cord. I can't find the problem, what's worse is that the AC adapter keeps clicking. Does anyone know what the problem is and if I can fix it without having to buy a new one (I don't have that much money, but I REALLY need my laptop)

I have a macbook and i want to use it to be able to play music off of my phone. On my phone (the nokia 5300) which has a music player, i can select a song and select "play via bluetooth," which is meant for a set of bluetooth speakers...
which I don't have.
Then comes in the macbook... Which most know has bluetooth.. Can make my phone recongize the macbook as a media player over bluetooth.. with any program?

I bought a HP dv9628 1.9 GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-58 2gb mem, Vista Home Premium, Graphics NVIDIA GeForce Go 7150M, but i cant play a game! i mean, i install Fifa 08 and is so slow... proevolution slowly!! so slowly! and the players dont have arms! spiderman like turtleman! is amazing cause this supposed to be an amazing machine! In August I bought an HP notebook from FutureShop.The fan inside it has almost completely stopped working.
