Erm, read the specification in the paperwork it came with ?

If you go to Network Connections, there should be two icons. One for wireless connections the other for Local Area Network. Right-click the Wireless Icon and go into Properties. It should have a Network Adapter name with 802.11. If you click on configure you can view if the device is working properly or troubleshoot if not.

Most Notebooks do come with one already installed.

Right click on "my network places" and click "properties" if you see "wireless network connection" then you have a wireless card.

it usually will say it on the box or sticker on the computer. if not there is a button you press or switch on if you have toshiba or hp
