Going "wireless" would require you to use a router. If you can find me a router with an RJ-11 jack (your standard phone jack) on the back of it, I will send you $1,000,000. Dial-up speeds compared to today's DSL & Cable connections are too slow to even consider running through a router to go wireless. Wireless routers, whether they're $50 or $500, always lose a bit of the signal, thus not giving you "quite" the signal you would have if directly plugging your PC into your DSL or Cable modem.

If you tried to do that with dial-up (even if it "were" possible) the signal degradation would be so bad I would be amazed if you could even receive just "one" text E-Mail.

If you have dial-up you can get a router to make your house wireless. Check your laptop model first though to make sure you have a wireless card already in or you will also need to buy a wireless card so that your computer can pick up the wireless signal. If you go to a computer or electronics store they should be able to help you pick out the right kind of router for your needs. Good Luck :)

You have a laptop that is wireless capable.
You need a Wireless Router, if you have DSL or CABLE.
You are wasting your time to try it on Dial-up if you think your connection is slow now.
WIreless technology was developed for the faster connections as mentioned above, NOT DIAL-UP.
It is like putting a 50 thousand dollar bass boat on a 1/2 acre farm pond.

As long as you have a wireless NIC (network interface card) you can go wireless BUT you need the following items... (1) a high speed (broadband) internet connection plan from a service provider (2) a modem - usually provided by the internet provider (3) a wireless router to connect to your modem so it can 'talk' to the NIC on your laptop.

If you buy a bluetooth modem. If you have a bluetooth card in your laptop you can connect to the modem.

Other than that, no.
