Dell Latitude D620 bios password reset?

i've recently purchased a Dell Latitude D620 laptop from eBay with bios locked with password....any suggestions of how to remove that?

Send it to Dell with proof that you bought it legitimately (and that it wasn't a stolen laptop) along with however much they charge to reset the password and they'll reset it.

Don't bother trying to open it up, or remove the CMOS battery because it won't work, passwords on laptops are stored in non-volatile memory that will keep its contents when power is lost.

There's also no software you can use to reset it since nothing can run until the password has been entered (and booting from CD's won't work either until you've entered the password).

You could also try asking the person you bought it off for the password.

This is not a BIOS Password nor is it the Windows password. This is a security feature built into the Notebook by Dell. I have found this to be the best method for unlocking the master password that was in place when I purchased the Notebook new. If it does not work with you Notebook then a search on yours in Yahoo or google will probably help.

that's NOT TRUE here's the master password for DELL LATITUDE D620. TRY AND YOU WILL SEE IT WORKS!!!! 48xtfrz8 or jiura2sd you must make sure you copy the error code exactly as shown the screen,you cannot change a letter to caps

There's probably a jumper on the motherboard to reset the BIOS. Failing that take the cmos battery (and the main battery) out overnight.

Open it up.. and remove the CMOS battery for 30 secs...
