One minute they were ok and the next they wouldnt work. I have tried all the usual settings and made sure that theyre not muted.
Does anyone have any other ideas?

i know people have already replied to some of my previous questions but seriously i kid you not the ram i said before is the actual ram possible. i even did it on the crucial scan and it gave me this:

Essentially my laptop isn't for gaming (Graphics card and processor etc) and the video card is okay it would seem but most games have a habit of not recognising the laptop's video setup or say that i should upgrade (only for Vista to say there aren't any!)

i bought it 3 months ago and i have a 1.86-9GHz intel celeron processor, ATI Radeon X200M integrated motherboard, 1Gb RAM, 80Gb harddrive, 8xDVD drive and further more. I've read that it's difficult to upgrade laptops, esp graphics cards. slowdown is noticeable esp on Oblivion and i would like to know is whether by adding more RAM, (around 2Gig) could it be possible to improve the amount of ram given to the video card. i was thinking that at least 2 gig ram may increase the quality. any upsides/downsides from adding more ram, i read that you must be careful and that computers have a max amount. my laptop is new so of the top of my head i wwould assume it could take a fair amount (also i'll probably get a tech guy to install it

I have a Compaq Presario Laptop, and I must've stepped on it at some point, so the screen is all cracked and I can't see much on it. I was wondering how much it will cost to replace it and where I could find a new screen?? It is actually the whole family's laptop, so I feel really guilty and want to fix it. well, im using my laptop and it goes warmer as i use it, when it goes really hot it turns of automatically it is not a wireless laptop. And it wont let me do a disc cleanup. When i take it to be repared, the people just take my money and hardly do anything to it. What should i do ? ( i do not want to buy a new laptop yet )

Hi there, i have and HPZD8228EA laptop running windows XP, last night someone turned it off by justing holding the on/off button so it didn't have time to shut down properly. Now when i try and turn it on it just shows a blank black screen with the mouse present. I have tried the options of starting in last previously known settings and safe mode but i don't really know what to do.

I would be brilliant if someone could help me with this problem, although i would like to keep the stuff on my hard drive as i have quite alot of music.

I already own a desktop that I bought in 2000 & it's not very fast & it doesn't have alot of memory. We have a family of four & I thought about buying myself a notebook computer & leave the desktop for the children. I would like to know which would be better: to buy a notebook computer, upgrade the one I have or just get a replacement desktop with more speed, memory and dvd/cd burner? I mainly use the computer just to type documents from time to time, download photos from my digital camera, download songs for my ipod and to surf the internet and sometimes the kids play games. I would like to be able to burn the pictures onto a disc as well as be able to hookup my digital camcorder so I can burn the movies onto a disc and one that is expandable. I really don't need a mobile computer. Which is the better brand to buy Toshiba, Dell, eMachines or what? If I bought another desktop how would I go about transfering all of my software and documents to the it? Thanks.

why, when I am on the computer for anytime from 30 minutes to 3 hours, does my computer shut off completely. I could be in the middle of a game or an email and it completely shuts down and turns itself off.

Any answers will help. Thanks.
Also, is there something that I can do to fix the problem or will I have to take it somewhere... It's my laptop.

get message 'ntldr missing' . It says to restart but i still get the same message . i tried to restart with out the battery as was recommended on another web site but had no luck. I also removed the ram chip , and that did 'nt work either . I don't hear the hard drive turning when i start up , but with the windows xp disk inserted it does turn but i still ge the same message and i tried 'f3 and f5 and also f1 . and still get the same message , it seems the hard drive is working , but i did not do anything to abuse it and it worked ok before i tried to fomat it .

Hi, I have got a Desktop and going to purchase a laptop from Dell (same brand PC)

I have xp running on my desktop, and vista is given on the new laptop.

I am now scared that I might have encounter problem when trying to use router because they have diffrent OS and wanting to connect to broadband internet at the same time.

Is this possible?

My other question is if this is all too scary, im considering buying the laptop with xp installed to minimize problem.
But can I upgrade from xp later on to vista on my dell laptop with no hassle?

Or there will be a lot of hassle such as loosing all my files etc when I upgrade.

When I turn it on, it says there might be problem with the Hard Drive and tells me to press F-1.

After pressing F--1, Windows XP desktop comes up after like 5 min, but no icons. And it stays like that forever. Any advice of what to do, please?
