i know people have already replied to some of my previous questions but seriously i kid you not the ram i said before is the actual ram possible. i even did it on the crucial scan and it gave me this:

Maximum Memory Capacity: 1048576 MB
Currently Installed Memory: 1024 MB
Available Memory Slots: 1
Number of Banks: 2
Dual Channel Support: N.A.
CPU Manufacturer: GenuineIntel
CPU Family: Intel(R) Celeron(R) M CPU 440 @ 1.86GHz Model 14, Stepping 12
CPU Speed: 1866 MHz

it doesn't make sense to me (ram) but maybe you can make sense of it.

I dont know what the question is... You have 1GB of ram (1024MB). You are on a laptop and you have 2 memory banks available in the system. Your manufacturer used 1, 1GB stick. You could add another 1GB of DDR2 PC5300 (most likely what is already installed) to bump it to 2GB. The maximum amount of ram that a 32 bit operating system such as windows xp or windows vista (unless you purchased the 64-bit version, which i can assure you you didn't), is between 2.8 and 3.5gb. If you are running vista, 2GB will run it very well, and xp runs great on 1gb. I'm guessing you are running vista due to the newer 440 celeron based on the core architecture. Keep in mind if you check the RAM in your system it might show up less than 1024MB due to shared video memory to run your graphics. If you really want to get reliable information on your cpu/ram, google and download CPU-Z. It is a small app that lets you look at ram and cpu info, timing, voltages, etc.

ok i answered it once now you have given better info, the max ram is 2048mb or 4096mb , you have 2 slots therefore you can only install 2 chips the biggest they make is 2gb chips so thats means you can install,2 - 2gb chips, i mean if you used the crucial scanner it gave you your upgrade options and thats all you can use . That number is messed up i use the scanner all the time and yes it does make mistakes depending on your operating system and security that may block the scanner from giving you an accurate reading

Before doing this, be certain you energy off the pc and switch off the energy deliver from adapter/charger. To be certain you do not destroy your lappy with static power, both put on antistatic gloves or bands, or discover every other strategy to keep grounded. It is not going to intent any information loss so long as you be certain there's no static power within the atmosphere you're running. PS: If RAM is free, how come your pc remains to be running?

That amount of ram is a very large number--it might have meant free space available for virtual memory.

this is saying you have one stick of ram that is one gig
dual channel is not supported because you need two identical stick to enable that. just buy the same sick and you will give two gig of dual channel.
