What happen to my laptop?

I have a everex lm7wz the screen went black one day. You can hear the fan but no picture. What in the world is wrong with this thing??? Help I have so many things on it I cant loose.

You will probably have to have this checked by a pro, but it sounds like the back light for your monitor burned out.
