You had to expect that you'd get more votes for PCs than Macs because of their current % in use. But if you don't come in with any biases, I think you'll choose Apple - for the ease of use, creative applications, and forward-thinking of the company (pc's haven't had an original idea for uses in years, they're still busy trying to copy Apple's innovations - consider colors, iPods, iPhone, etc). And try to find anything other than personal files on a PC - like cookies or added things you may want to delete.
From finding and working with files and applications to adding new peripherals (microphones and even printers), Apple is way ahead of the curve. If you're in music or graphics, most professionals use only Macs. And security issues are almost non-existent, esp. if you use a non-Explorer browser.
I've worked on both as a user and a tech and hands down, Macs are WAY more user-friendly and will leave you feeling less like shooting yourself (or your computer) at the end of the day when a virus has just wiped out your harddrive or you've got to re-boot for the 20th time in a day.

If you can afford it an Apple is probably the first choice simply because it's easier to learn and operate and has better quality. People who own Apples generally keep their computers longer. Apple works far better in handling graphics and music if you are an artist. If you are on a tight budget, setting with a PC is fine.
Of the PC makers, my first choice would be Dell, simply because there is no company that supports their product better. I say that because they take the time to test all their parts in their system and the software that goes with all at one time and provide the best customer service.
If you try calling HP or anyone else, you can only get to a level 1 tech, if you ask for software of anything that came with the computer, nobody but Dell will send it-Dell is actually putting in in the computer box. They are also a bit more expensive. But when your computer goes down and you need help beyond your knowledge, Dell is the only company that will walk you through that process from start to funish and already have steps built for virtually every situation.
Companies like HP also sell you some software called HP Advisor that does more harm than damage to your computer. . For whatever reason they are charging you for it when you buy your machine. In addition, if you purchase an HP, you will get no Microsoft support despite the fact you just purchased Microsoft software in your computer. All these maybe little issues to some, but HP has charges you for those services and is not providing it to you. For Dell, they will help you with anything forever.

Depends what you want to use it for as Dell may have more available programs (BUT, this depend on you)!
Apple seems to be a real good computer if it match your needs. I learned Basic Programming on Apple many years ago, so, guess it holds some sentimental value. Myself I use Linux now, but, I work on computers as a hobby and have Windows 3.11 through XP. Looking to buy a Laptop soon with Vista, ugh!

Neither. Dell is a pain to deal with. Apple is much too expensive for what you get. Go HP, Toshiba, Compac, etc.
I wouldn't pay more $600 either. In 3 years the hardware and software will be outdated and considered too slow. Just buy another one in 3 years for another $600 and you will be ahead of the $1,500 to $2,000 laptop you might splurge on a laptop today.

Any pc with residing house windows, IS TRASH. no rely how a lot it costs, it is going to slowly yet actual cut back to rubble after downloading some stuff. I in elementary terms had residing house windows till now and in basic terms those days have been given a Macbook. I even have on no account used one in all those till now. You get use to it in 5 minutes tops. you additionally can do something like purchase a residing house windows/mac mouse and stuff. Macs even run residing house windows on an identical time with some utility there. Apple ROCKS!
